I was talking with my friend Adrienne Smith from New Super Affiliate Blog about writing articles and article spinning, and the effect of the recent Google “slap” on article sites and garbage content.  We talked briefly about whether it was worth spinning and by a vote of 2-0 we decided that it was.

What is not worth doing is making garbage spins of an article that read like a thesaurus puked on your article submitter.  This means not using free article spinners that are available online.  I hate to tell you, but you’re going to have to pay for a good one.  As a quick example, let me demonstrate what you can expect from a free article spinner.  Below I have chosen a passage from the timeless classic “Think and Grow Rich”.  See if you can tell which is the original and which is the spun article.

Article #1: “It is important that you follow the instructions described in these six steps. It is especially important that you observe, and follow the instructions in the sixth paragraph. You may complain that it is impossible for you to “see yourself in possession of money” before you actually have it. Here is where a BURNING DESIRE will come to your aid. If you truly DESIRE money so keenly that your desire is an obsession, you will have no difficulty in convincing yourself that you will acquire it. The object is to want money, and to become so determined to have it that you CONVINCE yourself you will have it.”

Article #2: “It ‘important to follow the instructions in these six stages. E ‘is particularly important to observe and follow the instructions sixth paragraph. You can complain that it is impossible for you “do you see yourself in possession of money” before you actually have. This is where a burning desire to come to your aid. If you really want money so enthusiastically, that desire is an obsession, have no difficulty in convincing yourself that you will receive it. The objective is to want money, and become so determined to be the fact that you can convince you.”

See, the reason article marketing has taken a hit is because of the stinky messes like the second article above that people used to spam all the article directories.

What you have to do is use an article spinner that will allow you to pick synonyms for every word in the article, or synonyms for article phrases, while at the same time allowing you to read the article to make sure it still reads like regular English, not like it has been run through every translator on Google, then back to English.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Google especially looks at articles, then looks at articles related to it, counts the number of words, the number of sentences, and paragraphs and through some kind of Google algorithm magic can sniff out duplicate content pretty easily.

As part of your spinning, you need to break up a single paragraph into multiple paragraphs.  You need to break a long sentence into multiple sentences.  You need to take short 3-4 word sentences and write long variations for them.

Let me show you what I mean.  I will take the first “article” that was posted above, and using my spinner will make it into something that reads exactly the same way, but has more paragraphs, more sentences, and a different word count.

A little bit of work and rewriting and it becomes:

“It is vital that you simply do as instructed over these following six steps. It’s particularly critical that you study the sixth section as well as closely follow its instructions. You might object that it is extremely difficult to ”envision oneself owning money” previous to one actually having it.  Here is the place where a ’Consuming Want’ will come to help you.

You can genuinely hunger monetary gain so much that your desire becomes an obsession.  Then you will have absolutely no difficulty in persuading yourself that you’ll attain it.  The concept is to desire wealth and to become so determined to possess it that you influence your thoughts.

You will have it.”

Both articles say the same thing.  They just read differently and have a different number of words, sentences, and paragraphs.  Most importantly, they read naturally.  One may be a little more verbose than the other, but ultimately you get the point across with both and the end result doesn’t read like verbal diarrhea.

A good spinner will take care of 75% of the work for you.  Then you just need to go through and set it to break up some paragraphs on spins, change up some verbiage, and make things read like they should.
